Signature watermark settings

When a signer applies a visible signature on a PDF, Subnoto can merge their signature image with a trust seal watermark (the Subnoto branding shown behind the signature). Team administrators on plans with Custom team branding can choose whether that watermark appears on signed documents.

| Setting | Default | What it does | |---------|---------|--------------| | Use Subnoto trust seal watermark on signatures | On | Visible signatures include the Subnoto trust seal behind the signer’s signature |

When the toggle is off, only the signer’s signature image is embedded in the signature block. The trust seal is not shown. This applies to envelopes signed after you change the setting.

  1. Open team settings

Sign in as a team administrator and go to Team settings (Settings → Configuration).

  2. Open Customization

In the sidebar, open the Customization section. If your plan includes custom team branding, you can upload a logo, set email colors, and change signature watermark settings.

  3. Toggle the trust seal watermark

Use Use Subnoto trust seal watermark on signatures. Each change is saved immediately.

The trust seal watermark applies to visible signature blocks on signable PDFs:

  • When a signer draws or uploads a signature, the watermark can appear behind their signature in the PDF.
  • When a signer does not provide a drawn signature, Subnoto may show the trust seal alone in the signature block (when the watermark is enabled).
  • Cryptographic signatures remain valid whether or not the trust seal is shown.
  • Audit proof documents are always generated when an envelope completes.
  • Invisible signatures (when no visible signature block is used) are not affected by this setting.
  • Email branding (logo and colors) is configured separately in the same Customization section.

Summary: On plans with custom team branding, team admins can turn off the Subnoto trust seal on visible signatures under Settings → Configuration → Customization. The watermark is on by default.
